Fan favorite and UFC welterweight, Mike Swick, is stating that he will be facing off against Jonathan Goulet on “The Ultimate Fighter” season 8 season finale on December 13th. This will be Swick’s first fight since his impressive victory over Marcus Davis at UFC 85. After the fight, Swick finally had the elbow surgery that he had been postponing for quite some time, and has been rehabbing for the past couple of months.
“It looks like I am fighting Jonathan Goulet on the TUF finale on Spike TV,” Swick told MMAWeekly.com. “It is not signed yet, however. I was asked if I would fight him and I agreed, and as far as I know he agreed as well. As soon as I get a contract, I will sign it.”
Late Tuesday evening, Goulet’s manager, Ken Pavia, confirmed that his client would indeed be facing the former TUF contestant in December.
In regards to his surgically repaired elbow, Swick wants to assure his fans that it was nothing serious, and will improve him as a fighter because it has now allowed him to fight and train without pain.
“My arm feels great and I have no restrictions,” he said. “It is good to finally be able to start back strength training with it. It has been an issue for so long and its great to have it back…the UFC fans will see me be able to do what I have wanted to do for a while now and that’s let my hands go. I predict a very violent and exciting fight.”
