1stRound: Struve starts with a high kick that misses, Buentello attempts a combo that misses. Struve tries to pull guard but Buentello fights it off but eats a huge uppercut. Struve takes Buentello down and lands in the full mount. Buentello gives up his back which allows Struve to use his long legs to get a body triangle and work for a submission. Buentello is doing a good job of defending his neck as time continues to wind down in the 1stRound with Buentello reversing into Struve’s full guard.   2ndRound: Buentello lands an overhand right as Struve trips but both fighters get back up to their feet. Struve clinches with Buentello and has the veteran up against the cage but Buentello is able to reverse and put the taller fighter on the cage. Struve drops down for a kneebar attempt that Buentello is able to get out of. Both fighters exchange as Struve attempts a flying knee but gets dropped by a big straight right. Buentello counters another knee attempt with a punch and both guys again exchange bombs to the crowd’s delight as both guys touch gloves. The fighters exchange uppercuts as the round ends.

3rdRound: There’s a delay before the 3rdRound as a piece of Struve’s teeth is stuck in his mouthpiece. Struve starts the round by utilizing his size advantage with a jab and leg kicks. Buentello is eating leg kicks that he’s not checking that seems to be slowing him down. Struve lands an elbow, Buentello counters with a couple punches. You can see that both fighters are slowing down at this point but Struve is starting to pick his shots more wisely but Buentello is still pushing forward. Struve slips and again Buentello wants nothing to do with the ground, Buentello lands a couple punches as the final horn buzzes.

Result: Stefan Struve defeats Paul Buentello via Majority Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-28)

1stRound: Guida starts off very active as Florian looks calm and relaxed as he lands a counter left hand. Guida lands a short right hook, Florian attempts a head kick but trips as Guida is in Florian’s open full guard. Florian fights back up to his feet but hasn’t really thrown anything yet. Both fighters are starting to exchange and it looks as though Guida is getting the better of it, Florian attempts a takedown but Guida gets right back up. Florian gets in side control as Guida is able to get out of it but gets slammed right back down as Guida has blood all over his face and body. Florian smells the blood and lands several elbows. The referee asks for a doctor, Guida lets out a huge burp as the fight resumes but the round comes to an end shortly after.
  2ndRound: Replays show a slashing elbow that opened up the gash on Guida’s head. Florian is starting to use his jab, Guida is the one throwing kicks, it looks clear that Florian wants to keep it standing. Florian fights off a double leg takedown attempt. Blood is starting to trickle into Guida’s left eye as he starts to blink. Florian’s boxing looks much better as he drops Guida with a right hook and then takes Guida’s back and locks in a rear naked choke.

3rdRound:

1stRound: The two fighters exchange a couple combos, Fitch grabs a hold of Pierce’s body and takes his back, Fitch is riding a high on Pierce’s back but has his legs hooked in between Pierce’s legs. Fitch is softening Pierce up with strikes but can’t get a hold of his neck. Pierce fights back up and slams Fitch down into his half guard. Both fighters are back on their feet as the referee separates them. Fitch eats a Pierce punch and counters with a knee, the round ends.    2ndRound: Pierce pushes Fitch up against the cage and begins to soften up Fitch’s leg with knees and lands a right hook on the way out. Fitch catches a Pierce leg kick and takes him down but they both stand right back up. There is some activity but nobody has landed anything significant yet. Fitch shoots in for a single leg and scores as he takes Pierce’s back when he gets back up. The last 10 seconds is the most action but another close round closes.

3rdRound: Fitch lands a nice knee with the clinch and then lands  short right. Pierce has Fitch against the cage and starts to dirty box but Fitch grabs Pierce’s neck and lands knees to Pierce’s body and head. Pierce lands a big left hook but doesn’t follow up. Pierce gets taken down again but gets back to his feet as Fitch is on his back. Fitch gets caught with another left hook that buckles his knees. Fitch is trying to hang on but Pierce has run out of time.

Result: Jon Fitch defeats Mike Pierce via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

1stRound: Kongo kicks off the action with a 1-2 combo but misfires. Mir lands a big left hand that drops Kongo and locks in a guillotine choke that puts Kongo to sleep, LITERALLY. 2ndRound:

1stRound: Penn rocks Sanchez as he rushes in as he normally does to start a fight with a right hook as Penn’s stand-up advantage is clear from the start. Penn is stalking an scoring at will as Sanchez is still recovering from the big shot he took. Anything that Sanchez tries is countered with better striking by Penn, easy 1stRound win for the champion. 2ndRound: Sanchez misses wildly with a hook and shoots in for a single leg takedown but Penn easily fights it off as they both get back to the center of the Octagon. Sanchez scores a right uppercut and misses with a head kick. All of Sanchez’ takedown attempts have come up blank. Sanchez lands a body punch but misses with another takedown attempt. Sanchez barely misses Penn’s head with another headkick and eats a couple punches for his effort. Penn gets overly aggressive which allows Sanchez to attempt another takedown that he once again fights off as the buzzer sounds.

3rdRound: Sanchez tries to bullrush with a few punches but comes up with air. Penn lands a left hook that backs Sanchez up as the challenger tries for another takedown. Sanchez is still holding onto Penn’s leg but is eating some elbows and punches as they separate. Sanchez is getting closer with his high left kick but still doesn’t catch Penn. Sanchez eats an elbow in the clinch as Penn goes back to the center of the Octagon. Penn fights off another failed takedown attempt and scores with a quick combination as the 3rdRound ends.

4thRound: A visibly beaten Sanchez isn’t as relentless as fans are used to with Penn starting to tee off witha  straight right and left combination. Penn looks like he waiting for Sanchez to make a big mistake to finish the fight, Sanchez lands a right hook when they separate from the clinch. Sanchez seems content with trying to take Penn down with a single leg but Penn is having none of it. Penn lands a flying knee and a left hook when the round ends.

5thRound: Both fighters look ready for the final round to begin but Sanchez’ face shows a different story. Penn lands a straight right to start the round. Sanchez shoots in for another single leg and gets stuffed again. Penn sprawls out of the takedown attempt. Penn lands a right head kick and follows up with a few punches as Sanchez grabs Penn’s leg again. Sanchez has a huge gash on his forehead from the final barrage as the doctor calls off the fight.

Result: BJ Penn defeats Diego Sanchez via TKO (Doctor’s Stoppage-Cut) at 2:37 in the 5thRound
