During last night’s UFC Fight Night 15, UFC President Dana White announced that the UFC will be hosting a three hour fund raising MMA event to support the U.S. Troops. The December 10th event will showcase a variety of fights, during which fans can call in and donate money to the Fallen Heroes Fund.
The Fallen Heroes Fund raises money for soldiers that have been wounded in combat. The event will be held at the Fort Bragg Military Base in North Carolina.
“UFC and Spike TV are going to present a three-hour event. It’s called ‘UFC Fights for the Troops.’ And it’s to benefit the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund,” said White. “The goal will be to raise millions of dollars to help the National Intrepid Center of Excellence.
“Basically what that is, it’s a treatment center for men and women in the military who’ve experienced traumatic brain injuries,” explained the UFC president. “Throughout the night viewers will be able call in and donate money to the cause.”
This free broadcast will be available on Spike TV. As of now, the only rumored bout slated for the card is former “Ultimate Fighter” contestant Corey Hill facing Dale Hartt.
