Heavyweight Brendan Schaub (pictured) believes he was robbed of a decision against Andrei Arlovski this Saturday at UFC 174.
If that’s the case, UFC president Dana White thinks Schaub should try stand-up comedy because that is simply hilarious. White says the opening two periods were a toss up, but Schaub’s bloodied and battered face told the entire story.
“I think everyone would agree that fight sucked,” White said of their disappointing tango on Fox Sports 1’s post-fight show. “The fans lost in that fight. For anyone to think Schaub got robbed – the first two rounds could have gone either way – for Schaub to feel like he got robbed [at UFC 174] is absolute comedy.
“Schaub looked like he got hit by a baseball bat. We got robbed tonight. That should never have been on the main card tonight. That fight should have been on the prelims.”
Although Arlovski was awarded a split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) victory in his first UFC appearance in six years, “The PitbBull” wasn’t smiling about his performance. In fact, the former UFC heavyweight champion was thankful he didn’t have to cross paths with his big boss at the post-fight press conference.
“Honestly, I felt and I still feel really horrible,” Arlovski shared at the presser. “I’m glad Dana White isn’t here because he’s probably so pissed at me.
“He gave me a great opportunity, and I didn’t like my performance, my fight, tonight.”
As for Schaub, that was just his first loss in his past three outings. So, at least for the time being, the comedy circuit can wait.
