Following “UFC Fight Night: Marquardt vs. Te Huna,” UFC president Dana White awarded Charles Oliveira (pictured), Nate Marquardt, Gian Villante and Sean O’Connell each an additional $50,000 for their special performances Saturday night in Auckland.
Villante and O’Connell took “Fight of the Night” honors for their back-and-forth battle. Villante will also be taking home a win bonus for his split decision victory.
Oliveira became the first person to finish Hatsu Hioki in 38 professional fights. “Do Bronx’s” Peruvian choke was good enough for one “Performance of the Night” paycheck.
Marquardt snapped his three-fight losing skid by tapping out James Te Huna with an armbar in the show’s featured contest. That sub scored “Nate the Great” the other “Performance of the Night” bonus.
UFC Fight Night 43 took place inside Vector Arena in New Zealand.
