Spike TV has released the ratings for this past Wednesday’s UFC Fight Night 15 event. The broadcast peaked at 2.3 million viewers, which isn’t too impressive, however, certainly nothing to be ashamed of. They drew solid numbers for their key demographics; 913,000 Men 18-49 and 465,000 Men 18-34. The card was a lead-in to “The Ultimate Fighter” season eight premiere, which drew an impressive 1.6 million viewers.
By comparison, ESPN’s telecast of the Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays and ESPN2’s coverage of the University of Louisville vs. Kansas State college football game drew a combined 858,000 men 18-49 and 373,000 men 18-34.
Fight Night 15 didn’t draw as big of numbers as its immediate predecessor, Fight Night 14, which peaked at 4.46 million viewers. However, that event had the luxury of being on a Saturday, as well as featuring one of the UFC’s most popular and exciting fighters in Anderson Silva.
Fight Night 15 was headlined by TUF season six champion Nate Diaz defeating Josh Neer in a close split decision.
