UFC president Dana White slammed the door shut on any possibility of Dan Henderson returning to the UFC during today’s “UFC 107: Penn vs. Sanchez” press conference. “Dan probably won’t be back in the UFC, nope,” White told the media. “He’ll probably retire over there.”
Henderson was the first person to ever hold two titles in two different weight classes in Pride and almost unified the UFC and Pride light heavyweight titles before coming up short against Quinton Jackson at UFC 75.
Strikeforce announced that they had inked Henderson to a 4-fight, 16-month deal this past Monday.
White in fact stated that he was probably responsible for Henderson’s departure by taking his offer off the table, which forced Henderson to sign with the California-based promotion.
“I pushed him to do that. I started taking sh#% off the table and that made him make his decision to go with [Strikeforce],” White said.
