As expected, Saturday’s middleweight title tilt between champion Chris Weidman (pictured) and Lyoto Machida at UFC 175 was highly competitive. However, that doesn’t mean the scrap wasn’t one-sided.
When the dust settled on their shootout, Weidman retained his hardware on the strength of a (49-45, 48-47, 49-46) unanimous decision victory. One judge awarded Weidman a 10-8 round in the third.
I’m not quite sure what fight that judge was watching. Although Weidman took the middle stanza, it did not warrant a 10-8 verdict.
MMA judging, never a dull moment…
UFC 175 took place inside Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
