Strikeforce has just announced that former WWE champion Bobby Lashley has signed with the California-based promotion and will make his promotional debut on their January 30th card. “I’m looking forward to fighting for Strikeforce and challenging myself by taking on some of the top heavyweights in MMA,” Lashley said of his signing.

Lashley has signed a multi-year deal,  but terms of the agreement were not announced.

An opponent has yet to be named, but we’re expecting to find out who Lashley will make his debut against shortly.

We had reported back in October that Lashley was expecting to land with Strikeforce back in November to appear on the “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers” card, but a deal couldn’t get done it time.

“I have talked with [Strikefore CEO Scott] Coker. I’ve talked with Bob Cook also. I wish I was able to do the November 7th card,” Lashley said at the time.

The signing of Lashley is Strikeforce’s second major addition to their ever growing roster as earlier this week they announced the signing of former Pride champion Dan Henderson.
