Four months after slamming the door on signing bantamweight Holly Holm (pictured), UFC president Dana White finally managed to ink the former boxer to a contract.
White made the announcement Thursday via Twitter.
“I am blessed and very excited for this opportunity with the @ufc my goal is to keep learning and improving. Lots of hard work ahead!” Holm tweeted.
Negotiations between White and Holm broke down after a face-to-face meeting in March. White left their chat less than pleased with Holm’s manager – which is typically code for, they were demanding too much money.
Terms of Holm’s deal were not disclosed. However, the UFC typically signs fighters to at least four-fight contracts.
Holm owns an unblemished 7-0 MMA record since transitioning from boxing in March 2011. The 32-year-old has shown she’s much more than just hands inside the cage, finishing off five of her victims with her legs.
No word on when Holm will make her big league debut.
