Former UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk will now be fighting on the televised portion of the UFC 108 card after Tyson Griffin was forced to pull out after suffering an injury during training.

MMAWeekly was the first to confirm the change as Sherk was originally scheduled to take on Rafaello Oliveira on the undercard.

Sherk’s promotion to the main card means that he will now face Griffin’s original opponent in Jim Miller.

The UFC is looking to find a replacement for Oliveira and should have an announcement shortly.

Miller has won his last two fights inside the Octagon while Sherk is coming off of a bad unanimous decision loss to Frankie Edgar at “UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida.”

Ironically, Sherk’s last win in the UFC was at “UFC 90: Silva vs. Cote” against Griffin.
