UFC Mark Hunt

Mark Hunt (pictured) is slated to face Roy Nelson on September 20 at UFC Fight Night 52. But how can Hunt possibly do that when he no longer has a job with the UFC?

So Hunt claims.

“Well I’m unemployed that sucks,” Hunt mysteriously posted on his verified Twitter account early Tuesday morning. “Not my choice guys but going from being exited at the prospects of the future of fighting to being unemployed in a day lol this sucks.”

LOL, the unemployment joke is apparently on the MMA world. UFC president Dana White promptly killed Hunt’s trolling tactics in a response to a fan on the social media network.

“Hell NO Mark Hunt isn’t cut,” White stated.

Hunt must be bored, or pulling a Nate Diaz in an attempt to score a new contract. Who knows? Either way, it appears the 40-year-old was not handed his pink slip from the UFC.

Hunt owns just a 9-8-1 professional record, but remains one of the sport’s more likable fighters. “The Super Samoan” and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva engaged in one of the wildest shootouts the heavyweight division had ever witnessed in his last outing.

The December bout was ruled a majority draw, but the real loser was Bigfoot because he flunked his post-fight drug test for elevated levels of testosterone.

Hunt and Nelson meet inside Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
