Gina Carano might (or might not) be in talks to join Bellator MMA, but that doesn’t mean she’s still not at the top of UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey’s (pictured) hit list. Technically, Carano actually came in at #3.
UFC president Dana White accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Tuesday and promptly challenged Rousey, UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta and Shaquille O’Neal to do the same within 24 hours.
After hearing the dare, it took Rousey about 24 seconds to step up to the plate. While appearing as a guest on “Fox Sports Live,” Rousey gladly doused herself with a bucket of ice water.
She then called out “The Expendables 3” castmate Sylvester Stallone, “Fast & Furious 7″ co-star Dwayne Johnson, and last but not least, Carano.
Your move, Gina. And I’m not referring to just the Ice Bucket Challenge…
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death.
Two weeks ago, the ALS Association ignited the Ice Bucket Challenge to help bring awareness and raise money for the disease. Celebrities from all over the world have participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge, helping the organization raise $4 million in donations compared to $1.12 million during the same time period last year.
