After Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier’s exits from UFC 178, the card continues to pick up the pieces. On Thursday, it was announced a lightweight shootout between Donald Cerrone (pictured) and Bobby Green will co-headline the September 27 show.
Cerrone has once again emerged as one of the hottest lightweights in the game. He’s finished off all four of his last opponents in devastating fashion, all since this past November. “Cowboy” most recently posted a highlight reel head kick KO on Jim Miller in July.
Green will be riding an eight-fight winning streak into the tango, with half of those wins coming inside the octagon. “King” took a split decision over Josh Thomson just last month at UFC on FOX 12.
Flyweight king Demetrious Johnson defends his throne against Chris Cariaso in the night’s featured attraction.
MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts the festivities.
