One small step for Cris “Cyborg” Justino (pictured), one giant leap towards a potential superfight with UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.

On Monday, Invicta FC confirmed featherweight champion Justino will shed the 10 pounds necessary to compete at bantamweight. She will make her 135-pound debut on their December 5 card against a yet-to-be determined opponent.

UFC Fight Pass will stream the event live.

OK, so Justino successfully making 135 pounds is more than just a small step, it’s a significant one if she ever plans on jumping to the UFC to challenge Rousey in the biggest female fight MMA has to offer. Assuming, of course, UFC president Dana White doesn’t continue to protect his golden girl from Justino – as many in the MMA community have accused him of.

Justino has never fought at bantamweight. Furthermore, her ripped physique has caused her to come in heavy at featherweight in the past.

If the 29-year-old has any issues on the scale in December, you can officially flush the chances of a blockbuster bout with Rousey down the toilet.
