On Monday, it was announced middleweight champion Chris Weidman (pictured) suffered a broken hand while training that will force him out of his UFC 181 title tilt against Vitor Belfort.

If you were planning on making the trek to Las Vegas to attend the December 6 event, don’t cancel your plans just yet. A rematch between welterweight champ Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler will now serve as the show’s new featured attraction.

In addition, the scrap with lightweight king Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez is still the card’s co-main event.

As far as Weidman vs. Belfort is concerned, the tango has been postponed until early 2015. Belfort tweeted the highly-anticipated shootout will likely go down in February.

Hendricks has been rehabbing his injured arm and was hoping to return after the beginning of the new year. However, it appears his bosses talked him into an early comeback.

Hendricks posted a unanimous decision victory over Lawler in his last outing to capture the vacant welterweight crown Georges St-Pierre left behind. Lawler has rattled off two wins since their encounter in March.

Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts the festivities.

Here is the show’s revised lineup:

Todd Duffee vs. Anthony Hamilton

Travis Browne vs. Brendan Schaub

Gilbert Melendez vs. Anthony Pettis (UFC lightweight champion)

Robbie Lawler vs. Johny Hendricks (UFC welterweight champion)
