On this week’s edition of “UFC Tonight,” it was announced a critical featherweight shootout between Frankie Edgar (pictured) and Cub Swanson will headline UFC Fight Night 57.
The November 22 event takes place at a yet-to-be announced venue in Austin, Texas.
After losing three straight, scraps, Edgar has managed to right the ship with two consecutive victories. The former lightweight champion was most recently seen dominating, and retiring, BJ Penn in July.
Swanson is one of the hottest contestants in the division having won six straight fights, four of which he ended in some form of knockout. He posted a unanimous decision victory over Jeremy Stephens in June.
In addition, today’s show also confirmed a lightweight affair between Bobby Green and Edson Barboza will serve as the card’s co-main event.
It is unknown if the event will be made available for live viewing via UFC Fight Pass, Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2 or some combination of the three.
