That moment when your mortal enemy, someone you’re legally allowed to fight in four days, walks into the same room you’re currently occupying.
That’s what happened Tuesday between UFC featherweights Dustin Poirier (pictured) and Conor McGregor. And the great part is, “UFC 178 Embedded” captured the entire awkward, tension-filled encounter on tape.
After missing each other by just 10 minutes as they hit the scale for a pre-fight practice weigh-in, Poirier and McGregor found themselves in the same lobby exchanging mean mugs from across the room.
Poirier was making coffee when he saw McGregor out of the corner of his eye. He tells the cameraman, “My boy’s coming. You’re gonna want to get this on camera. (Then mumbled something else).”
As they shot death rays at each other, McGregor starts off the brief dialog.
“Get ready to fall,” he said.
“A few days away, my friend,” Poirier responded with a smirk before leaving the room.
Poirier then tells teammate Matt Brown that he’s never met someone so “douchey” in his life.
UFC 178 is now only two days away! Plus, Friday’s face-off between the two should be epic.
