UFC Gives Lutter Another Chance at UFC 91

It is being reported that the UFC has decided to bring back “The Ultimate Fighter” season 4 champion Travis Lutter. He will be taking Joe Doerksen at UFC 91, which will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will be headlined by the return of UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture defending his title against Brock Lesnar.

Lutter was released from the UFC earlier this year after his loss to former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin at UFC 83. Lutter has posted a 2-4 record with the organization, however his record was not his downfall.

After winning his season of TUF, Lutter was granted an immediate title shot against Anderson Silva, however Lutter failed to make the 180-pound weight requirement. UFC management didn’t take kindly to Lutter’s unprofessional behavior, and he has been on the outs with the company ever since.

Sherdog.com was the first to report the fight after they confirmed with Doerksen’s camp that he had accepted the bout.

Doerksen is a MMA veteran that has lost three of his last four bouts. He was 0-3 under Zuffa’s umbrella, before winning his last bout against John Meyer at Viper MMA last month.

Here are the fighters Rumored to be competing on the UFC 91 card:
