Now that UFC 178 is officially in our rear-view mirror, let’s take a look ahead to the octagon’s next pay-per-view broadcast.

UFC 179: Aldo vs. Mendes II” goes down October 25 inside Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Reigning featherweight king Jose Aldo (pictured) puts his strap on the line against Chad Mendes in the show’s featured attraction. The last time the rivals met, also in Aldo’s homeland of Brazil, Mendes found himself unconscious on the canvas after tasting Aldo’s knee.

While Conor McGregor, the UFC’s current flavor of the month, won’t be competing in the festivities, the UFC will be flying him out to jiu jitsu country to sit front and center to likely scout his next opponent in person. Will they let him enter the cage to greet Aldo or Mendes? Probably not, because that would be insane.

Phil Davis and Glover Teixeira meet in the co-main event.
