The hotly rumored lightweight affair between Donald Cerrone (pictured) and Myles Jury has become reality.
UFC president Dana White announced the tango Wednesday via Twitter. There were reports the 155-pound affair was headed to the UFC’s Boston card, but it appears White had a change of heart.
The January 3 event goes down inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Cerrone is one of the division’s hottest fighters having won five straight scraps. He posted a unanimous decision victory over Eddie Alvarez in September.
Jury owns a perfect 15-0 professional record, with his last six coming inside the octagon. While he holds UFC victories over Michael Johnson, Diego Sanchez and most recently Takanori Gomi, Cerrone will be the 25-year-old’s biggest test to date.
