InTheGuard.tv reported that current UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva was considering retiring next year, however Silva’s manager, Ed Soares, quickly jumped onto the MMA.tv forums to kill any retirement talk by saying, “I can guarantee you Anderson will not be retiring within the next year. He still has 6 fights on his contract.”

Soares and Silva have always had a good relationship, so there’d be no reason to not believe what he is saying.

“I’ll retire next year. I already gave my all. I don’t need to prove anything for anyone and within one year I’ll put my gloves aside,” InTheGuard.tv quoted Silva as saying.

Silva does have six fights left on his current UFC contract, so his UFC 90 showdown with Patrick Cote would mean that he would have five left following UFC 90.
