UFC Raphael Assuncao

Raphael Assuncao (pictured) was a heavy 3.5-1 odds-on favorite to beat Bryan Caraway Saturday, and now we know why.

Assuncao made it look easy in a lopsided (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) unanimous decision victory against Caraway.

The Brazilian has now quietly won seven straight scraps in the featherweight division. Assuncao said he’s undecided on weather to wait for a title shot or take another fight.

Let’s not forget, he was supposed to challenge then-champ Renan Barao at UFC 173. Because he couldn’t, T.J. Dillashaw stepped in and is now sitting atop the throne and Dominick Cruz is up next for Dillashaw. So, one couldn’t blame Assuncao if he wanted to wait.

Then again, that would be a long time to sit the sidelines and we all know UFC president Dana White isn’t fond of that.

UFC Fight Night 54 took place inside inside Halifax Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
