It always helps to have friends in high places. Less than a week after announcing he had been cut by the UFC, middleweight Chris Camozzi has signed with Prize Fighting Championship, a Colorado-based MMA promotion where his buddy, Shane Carwin, serves as vice president of fighter development.
Camozzi will make his organizational debut against Jeremy Kimball on November 21. The 185-pound affair will headline the card.
“The last few years I have been traveling the world and fighting. I finally get the opportunity to fight in my hometown of Denver, Colorado and its the first time since 2010,” Camozi wrote in a blog. “I just signed a new bout agreement with Denver promotion, Prize Fighting Championship and I’m back in action November 21st at the National Western Complex vs Jeremy Kimball.
“I’m looking forward to fighting in front of my family, friends and fans who have supported me all over the world. I will have tickets for sale very soon at Performance MMA so make sure you drop in and grab some. You don’t want to miss it!”
Camozzi owns a 19-9 overall professional record. He won half of 12 bouts in the UFC.
