“Payback’s a bitch.” Famous last words or foresight into the future?
Chad Mendes says it’s the prior, and if that’s the case, UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo (pictured) is in for a world of hurt because it will take a lot from Mendes to repay Aldo for the highlight reel knee “Scarface” unleashed on him nearly three years ago at UFC 142.
Mendes claims he’s a completely different fighter now having won all five of his scraps, four of which ended via some form of knockout, since their initial encounter.
Aldo, meanwhile, continues to dominate the featherweight throne. The Brazilian is perfect through his past 17 outings, a torrid streak he started in May of 2006.
UFC 179 goes down October 25 inside Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
