It is being reported that the UFC has just added three more bouts to their “UFC Fights for the Troops” event at the Fort Bragg Military Base in North Carolina. Lightweight standout Frankie Edgar will be taking on Matt Wiman, Brandon Wolff will be going up against Ben Saunders, as well as Tim Credeur facing Nate Loughran. The December 10th event will showcase a variety of fights, during which fans can call-in and donate money to the Fallen Heroes Fund.
Edgar holds an astonishing 9-1 professional record, 4-1 in the UFC, and is one of the division’s top fighters. He is coming off dominant win over former top contender Hermes Franca in July.
Wiman has rolled off five straight wins in the UFC since competing on the fifth season of the TUF. A win over a fighter of Edgar’s calibre would certainly put him in the mix for a title shot.
MMAWeekly.com confirmed with sources in Edgar’s camp that the contracts are all signed and submitted from both sides.
Saunders is 2-0 inside the Octagon cage, and is making a name for himself within one of the UFC’s deepest divisions. Still undefeated in his MMA career, Saunders is on a mission to prove that he is more than just the funny man that fans know him as from his season of TUF.
Wolff holds a 7-2 professional record, and will be making his UFC debut. He has competed in X-1, WEC and EliteXC in the past. His manager, Ken Pavia, told MMAJunkie.com that the contracts will be finalized later this week.
Credeur and Loughran are both 1-0 in the UFC and will be looking to make name for themselves.
