Want proof that Conor McGregor (pictured) has already surpassed Chael Sonnen as the best smack talker in UFC history after just 18 months with the promotion?
While Sonnen may have set the standard, it was with scripted lines that quickly went stale because he would use them every time he took the mic (Please see: “I’ve got the biggest arms, the greatest charm…”).
McGregor, on the other hand, comes off authentic and spontaneous when he spits his fire. Case in point, Tuesday’s appearance on BT Sport’s “Beyond the Octagon.”
The show’s main guest was featherweight top contender Chad Mendes, who was calling in from Brazil via Skype to discuss Saturday’s rematch with reigning champion Jose Aldo. However, McGregor was in studio and quickly became a part of the conversation.
“Conor, do you know what wrestling is?” Mendes asked his bitter rival.
“I can rest my balls on your forehead,” McGregor quickly countered.
Boom goes the dynamite! Sure, it’s a response you might hear during any teenage argument, or in a frat house, but that was simply live TV gold.
