UFC Joe Lauzon

UFC 180‘s main event isn’t the only scrap that’s getting tinkered with. For the second time in as many opponents, Diego Sanchez will need a new dance partner for the November 15 event.

One day after heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez was forced to withdraw from his bout with Fabricio Werdum with a knee injury, allowing Mark Hunt to step in and battle Werdum for the interim title, MMAJunkie.com reported Wednesday that lightweight Joe Lauzon (pictured) will now have to exit stage left for an undisclosed reason.

UFC officials have yet to address Lauzon’s status.

It is unknown if the promotion will find a last-minute replacement for Lauzon or save Sanchez for another day. However, Sanchez has made no bones about his desire to perform in the UFC’s debut in Mexico.

Showtime is only 24 days away. Tick-tock…

Sanchez was initially slated to face Norman Parke, but Parke pulled out with an undisclosed injury.

Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico hosts the festivities.

Here is UFC 180’s revised roster:

Preliminary Card:

Augusto Montano vs. TBD

Jessica Eye vs. Leslie Smith

Main Card:

(Pay-Per-View 10PM ET/7PM PT)

Ricardo Lamas vs. Dennis Bermudez
