Rousimar Palhares vs. Jon Fitch (pictured): Take Two. On Tuesday, World Series of Fighting announced welterweight champion Palhares will finally defend his throne against Fitch on December 13 at a yet-to-be determined location.
The 170-pound shootout was originally scheduled to go down July 5 until Palhares withdrew to tend to his ailing mother. Fitch went on to post a unanimous decision victory over Dennis Hallman that evening.
Palhares captured the belt by submitting Steve Carl with his trademark heel hook in March. The leg lock specialist hasn’t been seen since.
Fitch, meanwhile, has won both of his bouts for the promotion since getting choked unconscious by Josh Burkman in his WSOF debut.
Co-headlining the show will be a featherweight tilt between champion Rick Glenn and Lance Palmer.
NBC Sports Network will broadcast the main card live at 9PM ET/6PM PT.
