During Monday’s “The Time is Now” press conference in Las Vegas, UFC featherweight Conor McGregor (pictured) said, “I say it how I want to say it – the King speaks however he wants!”
That might be what McGregor believes, but apparently the self-proclaimed “King” can’t tweet however he wants.
Late last night, McGregor posted a picture of his face-off with Dennis Siver, who he’s fighting January 18 in Boston. Not a big deal, right? Well, it is when he decided to refer to his German opponent as a Nazi.
“Kiss them feet Nazi,” McGregor wrote accompanied by the image below.
No less than 15 minutes later, the post was deleted.
McGregor likely received a call from a UFC executive explaining to him that dubbing a German a Nazi is not acceptable in this, nor any other lifetime.
McGregor proceeded to post the same picture, but with a revised caption.
“Ich bin ein sowwy. Now about them feet…” he wrote.
According to Google Translate, “Ich bin ein” is German for “I am.” The “sowwy” is the same way my 2-year-old says “sorry.”
Would you look at that, it appears the UFC’s latest golden boy can do wrong…
