Just three days removed from quickly submitting Jake Ellenberger at UFC 180, welterweight Kelvin Gastelum (pictured) has been issued his next assignment. Gastelum will co-headline UFC 183 against Tyron Woodley.
UFC officials announced the scrap Tuesday.
The January 31 event takes place inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Gastelum owns a perfect 10-0 professional record, with his last five victories coming inside the octagon. Woodley arguably represents his most dangerous opponent to date.
Woodley has won three of his last four fights. “The Chosen One” bounced back from a critical loss to Rory MacDonald by TKO’ing Dong Hyun Kim in August.
Here is the card’s current lineup:
Ildemar Alcantara vs. Richardson Moreira
Diego Brandao vs. Jimy Hettes
Andy Enz vs. Thiago Santos
Miesha Tate vs. Sara McMann
Thales Leites vs. Tim Boetsch
Thiago Alves vs. Jordan Mein
Kelvin Gastelum vs. Tyron Woodley
Nick Diaz vs. Anderson Silva
