An undisclosed injury has forced Jorege Masvidal out of his January 18 scrap against Norman Parke. On Thursday, the UFC confirmed veteran Gleison Tibau (pictured) has agreed to step in and battle Parke at UFC Fight Night 59.
Tibau has won four of his last five fights, including two straight. The Brazilian most recently took a split decision over Piotr Hallmann in September.
Parke, meanwhile, is unbeaten in his past 11 outings (there’s a majority draw thrown in there against Leonardo Santos). He TKO’d Naoyuki Kotani in July.
No word on how long Masvidal will be forced to ride the pine.
TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts hosts the festivities.
