You remember that fantasy fight between Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino (pictured) and reigning UFC bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey that Justino promised she would make happen by dropping down to 135 pounds to challenge Rousey?

Well, it looks like that scrap will remain a fantasy for the time being…

“I can’t. From now on, I will only fight at my weight or in a catchweight,” Cyborg told Brazilian media outlet Tatame on Monday. “I haven’t fought in a long time and that’s why I want to go back to my division.”

Justino was set to make her bantamweight debut on December 5, but was forced off the card with a torn anterior talofibular ligament in her ankle. The buff Brazilian has never fought at that weight.

Furthermore, her ripped physique has caused her to come in heavy at featherweight in the past.

However, Justino was initially hoping a successful cut and performance at 135 pounds would get her a crack at Rousey’s UFC title. It appears the 29-year-old has come to grips with the fact her body might not respond to the drop.

“I realized I’m the only one making an effort for this fight to happen,” Justino said. “I believe both should make an effort.”

Rousey has stated she would be more than willing to fight Justino, the only woman live most believe would beat the UFC’s golden girl, but it would have to be at bantamweight.

Justino hopes to return to defend her Invicta title in February. Rousey, meanwhile, puts her strap up for grabs against Cat Zingano at UFC 184.
