The much anticipated middleweight scrap between champion Chris Weidman (pictured) and Vitor Belfort will have to be postponed once again.
Prior to Friday’s UFC 183 weigh-ins, Weidman told FOX Sports 1 that he has been forced to withdraw from the February 28 tango with a rib injury.
No word on how long Weidman will be forced to sit the sidelines or what the UFC intends to do with Belfort.
This matchup has now been postponed on four previous occasions, three times due to Weidman injuries (knee and hand) and once because Belfort was barred for taking testosterone replacement therapy.
Reigning bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano, who were initially slated to co-headline the show, will now get top billing.
Staples Center in Los Angeles hosts the festivities.
Here is the show’s revised roster:
Alan Jouban vs. Richard Walsh
Holly Holm vs. Raquel Pennington
Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto vs. Roman Salazar
Mark Munoz vs. Roan Carneiro
Josh Koscheck vs. Jake Ellenberger
Tony Ferguson vs. Yancy Medeiros
Cat Zingano vs. Ronda Rousey (UFC bantamweight champion)
