Brandon Thatch and Benson Henderson both came in under the 171 pound weight limit for Saturday’s shootout at UFC Fight Night 60.
However, it was visibly clear which was a legitimate welterweight and which was the one jumping up a division. Thatch towered over the former WEC and UFC lightweight champion during Friday’s face-off.
To say Thatch will have a considerable size advantage heading into the cage tonight would be an understatement. Imagine how much larger he’ll looking next to Henderson once all the weight he shed comes back on.
It could be a rough night for “Smooth.” Then again, size isn’t everything … but it certainly helps.
Thatch’s line has shot up quite a bit. “Rukus” is now nearly a 1.5-1 odds-on favorite to get his hand raised. Henderson, meanwhile, comes in closely behind as a +115 underdog.
1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado hosts the gig.
