Long before UFC president Dana White dubbed Uriah Hall as “The Next Anderson Silva,” Phillipe Nover (pictured) temporarily took the moniker as a contestant on “The Ultimate Fighter 8.”
He quickly became known as “Fainting Phillipe” after passing out while doing nothing on the reality show. Soon after that, he was just another over-hyped UFC bust that got fired after going 0-3 inside the octagon.
Nover’s MMA career didn’t end there, however. The Filipino-American has won five of his past seven scraps in smaller promotions to earn his way back into the big leagues.
The UFC making its debut in the Philippines on May 16 certainly didn’t hurt Nover’s cause, either.
Nover will face Yui Chul Nam in the event.
Nam has rattled off five straight wins, with his last coming in a split decision victory over Kazuki Tokudome in his UFC debut.
SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay hosts the festivities.
Here is the card’s current lineup:
Yao Zuikui vs. Nolan Ticman

Van Tae Hyun vs. John Tuck
Jean Ripen vs. Cajun Johnson
Roldan San Chang vs. John Delos Reyes
