A cat might have nine lives, but that’s nothing compared to Josh Koscheck’s (pictured) tenure in the UFC. Despite losing four straight scraps, the veteran has apparently been granted another reprieve.
According to Globo.com, Koscheck has agreed to step in and replace injured Ben Saunders to face Erick Silva on March 21. UFC officials have yet to confirm the swap.
The welterweight affair is expected to co-headline the gig.
Kosheck is just nine days removed from getting submitted by Jake Ellenberger at UFC 184. He found himself unconscious on the canvas and foaming at the mouth after Ellenberger slapped on a devastating north-south choke.
Silva has alternated between wins and losses over his past nine outings. The inconsistent Brazilian was last seen in December tapping out Mike Rhodes with an arm-triangle choke.
Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro hosts the event. Fox Sports 1 will air the main card live in America.
