As the rumor mill had been chirping about for quite some time, welterweights Carlos Condit (pictured) and Thiago Alves will in fact headline UFC Fight Night 67.
UFC president Dana White confirmed the shootout during Friday’s press conference in Brazil.
The May 30 event takes place at a yet-to-be determined venue in Goiania, Brazil.
Condit hasn’t been seen since dropping a TKO to Tyron Woodley in March 2014. “The Natural Born Killer” suffered a knee in jury in the bout and has been sidelined ever since. The former UFC interim champion has lost three of his last four fights.
Alves, meanwhile, has rattled off two straight victories, with his most recent coming January’s highlight reel knockout over Jordan Mein. Due to various injuries and illnesses, the Brazilian has only competed three times since November 2011.
No other bouts have been reported for the lineup.
No word if UFC Fight Pass, Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2 or some combination of the three will air the event live in America.
