After missing weight for his last welterweight bout against Tyron Woodley by four astonishing pounds, which was proceeded by a couple of tough weight cuts, Kelvin Gastelum (pictured) is being forced to return to the middleweight division.
On Tuesday, it was announced Gastelum will face veteran Nate Marquardt at UFC 188.
The June 13 event takes place inside Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico.
After taking “The Ultimate Fighter 17” middleweight tournament, Gastelum immediately dropped to welterweight and won his next four contests. Gastelum was perfect through his first 10 professional outings until January’s critical split decision defeat to Woodley.
Marquardt is also looking to get back on the winning track. In fact, “Nate the Great” has been far from it, losing four of his past five bouts.
Here is the card’s current roster:
Cathal Pendred vs. Dodger Montano
Tecia Torres vs. Angela Hill
Kelvin Gastelum vs. Nate Marquardt
Gilbert Melendez vs. Eddie Alvarez
Fabricio Werdum (UFC heavyweight interim champion) vs. Cain Velasquez (UFC heavyweight champion)
