It started in Brazil and ended in Ireland. Technically, the beef between reigning featherweight king Jose Aldo (pictured) and Conor McGregor will conclude June 11 at UFC 189, but that’s such a long way away, so let’s just focus on the world tour the archenemies just wrapped.
Plenty of madness occurred during their 12-day promotional tour, which covered several American cities, five countries and four continents. The UFC Embedded crew was there the entire way capturing all the smack talking, chest puffing, belt stealing and everything in between.
This 10-part series is arguably the best documentary the UFC has ever produced.
The UFC spent plenty of money on this global tour, from springing for separate private jets for Aldo and McGregor, five star hotel suites, custom suits, etc. They plan on easily recouping that dough on game day, as UFC president Dana White has predicted a $7 million gate at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and a million pay-per-view buys.
Let’s just hope the injury bug doesn’t come rearing its ugly head…
