Dustin Poirier (pictured) decided to head back to the lightweight division after losing to bitter rival Conor McGregor in his last outing. If what Poirier did to Diego Ferreira at UFC Fight Night 63 is any indication, then the UFC’s stellar 155-pound division just got that much deeper.
Poirier went through Ferreira like a freight train, easily knocking out the Brazilian in the opening round of their scrap.
After the win, Poirier said he will remain at lightweight for the foreseeable future.
“Diamond” also earned an extra $50,000 for “Performance of the Night.”
UFC Fight Night 63 took place inside Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia.
