That the main event of tonight’s EliteXC: Heat card between Kimbo Slice and Ken Shamrock is off. Shamrock received an accidental head-butt during a light training session that opened up a previous cut. Doctors examined the cut and told the Florida State Athletic Commission that the cut was too severe for Shamrock to compete. Seth Petruzelli, who was initially slated to fight Aaron Rosa, will take Shamrock’s place against the YouTube legend.

There initially conflicting reports when Shamrock’s status was first surfaced. Initially, Shamrock was 100% out of the fight, then reports came out that he was going to be allowed to fight.

Aaron Rosa initially offered his services to EliteXC as replacement to take on the street fighting legend, however EliteXC turned him down, feeling that Petruzelli would be a better match up for Kimbo.

Petruzelli holds a 9-4 professional MMA record.
