Some thought Scott Jorgensen (pictured) was going to be released by the UFC after getting submitted in the opening round by Wilson Reis in his last fight, which was his fourth defeat in five outings, but “Young Guns” has been granted yet another reprieve.

Over the weekend, it was announced Jorgensen will look to jumpstart his career by returning to the bantamweight division to meet Manny Gamburyan at UFC Fight Night 72.

Prior to October’s defeat to Reis, Jorgensen collected a much-needed win by posting a decision over Danny Martinez. The 32-year-old lost to Jussier da Silva, Zach Makovsky and Urijah Faber before that.

Jorgensen’s last few fights have taken place in the flyweight division.

Gamburyan, meanwhile, was last seen submitting Cody Gibson in September. “The Anvil” lost to Nik Lentz before that.

The July 15 event takes place inside Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California.

Fox Sports 1 will likely broadcast the main card.

Here is the card’s current lineup:

Scott Jorgensen vs. Manny Gamburyan

Igor Araujo vs. Sean Strickland

Tony Ferguson vs. Josh Thomson

Todd Duffee vs. Frank Mir
