In just over a month, the octagon will host one of the most star-studded cards in MMA history. A lot can happen until the curtain is drawn on UFC 187, but let’s keep our fingers crossed the injury bug doesn’t come rearing its ugly head again.
Hopefully, I didn’t just jinx it…
The show features a pair of thrilling title tilts. Jon Jones (pictured), the most decorated light heavyweight king in UFC history, defends his throne against a freight train in Anthony Johnson in the night’s featured attraction. The long-awaited middleweight clash between champ Chris Weidmand and Vitor Belfort serves as the co-main event.
Donald Cerrone and Khabib Nurmagomedov, two of the game’s hottest lightweights, get third-to-top billing. The victor could very well find himself competing for the belt in his next outing.
The May 23 event takes place inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
