Sorry, Playboy – and every horndog across the globe, for that matter – but UFC bantamweight queen Ronda Rousey (Pictured) is not interested in posing nude on your pages.
While the men’s magazine hasn’t presented Rousey with an offer to shoot her in her Birthday suit, Playboy shouldn’t even bother because the “Rowdy” one is not willing to let people see her goods for a few measly bucks.
“Yeah, no one should be able to see my cash and prizes for $5, okay? I don’t care how much money they gave me,” Rousey told HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumble.
Rousey was down to undress for ESPN the Magazine’s “The Body Issue” because, while some areas of her chiseled physique were exposed, her private parts remained just that. The 26-year-old felt it was a great opportunity to present women’s mixed martial arts to the mainstream world, and if it took a little skin to do it, so be it.
“Yeah, I felt like it was a good way to promote myself and women’s MMA. It wasn’t like it was Playboy,” Rousey professed. “Well, if you want exposure, you have to expose yourself, to some extent.”
Rousey is as intelligent as she is skilled. She fully understands that pretty women get all the attention no matter which corner of the planet they walk on. However, at the end of the day, this is the fight business and if she wasn’t steamrolling her opposition as she has though her first six professional scraps, Rousey knows the spotlight wouldn’t be shining as brightly on her blonde hair.
“I don’t really see myself as a sex symbol because ever since people have started calling me a sex symbol, I haven’t had a lot of sex in my life,” Rousey revealed. “Like, it’s just, it’s not really working out great for me.
“But, yeah, people bring that up all the time. I’m like, ‘Look, you’re right. I probably get more attention fighting because of how I look. But if I didn’t know how to fight and I just looked the way I did, no one would know who I am.’”
Catch Rousey’s interview on HBO tonight at 10PM ET/PT.
She makes her big league debut against Liz Carmouche this Saturday at UFC 157.
