Mirko Cro Cop not Sounding Like Himself

The once highly feared striker, Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, now seems to have lost the mystique that he had gained from his days in Pride. “I lost two fights in the UFC, and I have a fear of it happening again. I can’t afford more failures,” Filipovic explained.

That doesn’t sound like something a former champion would say. Fedor Emelianenko doesn’t “fear” losing; champions don’t lose. Many would argue that Alistair Overeem was well on his way to dominating “Cro Cop” until a series of low blows prevented Filipovic from continuing at Dream.6.

“There is no point crying over spilt milk,” Filipovic said of the low blows. “I expect my revenge at New Year’s Eve.”

We’re not so sure that “Cro Cop” still has the ability to get revenge against a bigger, younger and stronger Overeem.

“I should have been more aggressive of course. It’s something I’ll have to work on,” “Cro Cop” continued.

We’ll have to wait and see if he’ll get his shot at revenge on December 31st.
