Look who has been allowed back into the welterweight division. On Tuesday, Matt Brown (pictured) announced on his podcast that he will welcome Kelvin Gastelum back to the 170-pound class.
The event will take place November 21 at Monterrey Arena in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
After missing weight on two separate occasions, UFC honchos told Gastelum that he needed to move up to middleweight. “the Ultimate Fighter 17” winner did so successfully by TKO’ing Nate Marquardt in June. Gastelum has admitted he’s an average middleweight, but could contend for the title at welterweight.
Brown, meanwhile, snapped his two-fight skid with last month’s submission over Tim Means. “The Immortal” has won eight of his past 10 bouts.
Fox Sports 1 is expected to air the main card live in America.
No other bouts have been reported for the lineup at this time.
