On Monday, a pair of bouts were added to the UFC 192 lineup. Former flyweight top contender Joseph Benavidez (pictured) will battle Ali Bagautinov and Rose Namajunas will face Angela Hill in the October 3 event.
The UFC reported the scraps through the Houston Chronicle.
Benavidez has won six of his last seven, including two straight. He was most recently seen in May posting a unanimous decision victory over John Moraga.
Bagautinov is not only coming off a defeat to reigning 125-pound champion Demetrious Johnson, but he’s also fulfilled a one-year suspension after getting popped for erythropoietin (EPO) in last June’s bout with Johnson.
The Russian had won 11 straight prior to getting toppled by “Mighty Mouse.”
Namajunas is likely the most popular 2-2 fighter in all of MMA. Once dubbed as “the next Ronda Rousey” by UFC president Dana White, Namajunas was manhandled by Carla Esparza in The Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale by Carla Esparza to become the inaugural UFC strawweight champ.
Hill is looking to bounce back from June’s loss to Tecia Torres at UFC 188.
Toyota Center in Houston, Texas hosts the festivities.
