Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza (pictured) vs. Yoel Romero: Take Three. For the third time, it has been announced the middleweights will collide, this time at UFC 194.
The UFC confirmed the matchup Monday via Twitter.
The Brazilians were initially slated to collide in February at UFC 184, but Souza came down with a bout of pneumonia. The shootout was rescheduled for April’s UFC on FOX 15 event, then Romero suffered a torn meniscus during training.
Third time’s the charm?
Souza is perfect through his past eight outings, finishing off seven of those victims before the final horn. He was last seen submitting Chris Camozzi in April.
Romero will be riding a six-fight winning streak into the tango. “Soldier of God” most recently KO’d Lyoto Machida in June.
Souza is currently ranked 3 in the UFC middleweight division, while Romero is hot on his tail at 4. It is believed the victor will earn a title tilt.
The December 12 event takes place inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Here is the show’s updated lineup:
