Urijah Faber (pictured) and Conor McGregor will be reunited once again. First there was the backstage bathroom altercation ahead of UFC 189, then they were anointed as opposing coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter 22,” and now they will both be performing at UFC 194.
While interim featherweight champion McGregor will headline the December 12 extravaganza in a much-anticipated title unification bout against champ Jose Aldo, Faber will meet Frankie Saenz in a bantamweight affair.
The UFC announced the matchup late Thursday night.
Faber returns to the 135-pound class after dropping a unanimous decision to featherweight contender Frankie Edgar in May. “The California Kid” has won five of his past seven bouts.
Saenz, meanwhile, will be riding a seven-fight winning streak into the biggest scrap of his life. He most recently took a split decision over Sirwan Kakai in August.
MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts the December 12 festivities.
